This notice explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices and rights available to you.
Who is responsible for your information?
Everstore Ltd, trading as everstore™, is responsible for deciding how personal information covered by this notice is used. Its registered office is Orchard House, Natland, Kendal, England, LA9 7QQ, United Kingdom. The storage facility is at 31 Mintsfeet Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 6NN.
For questions about this notice or to exercise your data protection rights, email admin@everstore.uk or write to the registered office above.
What information do we collect?
The information we collect depends on how you use the website and booking service.
- Enquiries: your name, email address and message; your phone number and selected storage size if you choose to provide them; and a record that you acknowledged the privacy information shown with the form.
- Email updates: your email address, signup and consent record, subscription status and any unsubscribe or suppression record. Enquiry details are not added to marketing.
- Website and device information: technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, connection information, and error or security logs.
- Size selection: if you select a unit size, the site stores that selection in your browser's local storage so it remains selected as you move around the site. It is not sent to Everstore unless you include it in an enquiry. It remains in your browser until you clear it.
- Google Maps: the map is embedded but does not load unless you allow it through the cookie controls. When it loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser or device details. Google may also store or access cookies or similar information, depending on its services and your settings.
We do not currently use Meta Pixel or other advertising measurement pixels on this website. Marketing emails do not currently use open or click tracking.
When you continue to the Storeganise booking portal, the website retrieves unit sizes, images, prices and availability from Storeganise. If you book, you enter the personal details requested by the booking flow directly into Storeganise, including information needed to set up and manage a rental and payment. The Everstore website does not receive your payment card details through its availability lookup.
How and why do we use your information?
Answering enquiries and preparing quotes
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and, if you ask about renting a storage unit, to provide information or a quote. We don't use enquiry details for marketing. For general enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to and managing customer enquiries, and have documented an assessment of that interest. If you ask us to provide a quote or take another step towards renting a unit, we process the information needed to do that at your request before entering into a contract.
Setting up and managing rentals
If you book a unit, we use the information you provide in Storeganise to set up and manage your rental, communicate with you, administer payments and meet our legal and accounting obligations. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and, once you rent, performing that contract; we also use information where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
Email updates
We send news and offers only to people who separately opt in. The lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email.
Showing the facility location
We display an embedded Google Map to help visitors find the facility. It loads only if you allow it through the cookie controls. When it loads, Google may receive technical information about your visit. See the cookies and third-party services section below for more information.
Operating and protecting the website
We use technical and security information to deliver the website, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors and protect our systems. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website.
Who receives your information?
We share personal information only where needed for the purposes in this notice, with staff who need it, service providers acting on our instructions, and others where the law requires it.
- Replit hosts the Everstore website and database and provides related technical services. Everstore's published site and database are hosted in North America.
- Resend sends enquiry emails and marketing emails and manages email subscriptions and unsubscribe records. Resend stores email and log data in the United States. Under Everstore's current Free, Pro or Scale plan, Resend states that email and log data is retained for 30 days while the account is active.
- Storeganise supplies live unit availability, sizes, images and prices, and operates the separate customer booking portal. Everstore is the controller of rental customer information and Storeganise processes it for Everstore. Everstore has confirmed the account's data region as North America. The public booking portal is everstore.storeganise.com/sites.
- Google provides the embedded map and receives technical information when it loads. Google may process information in locations outside the UK as part of providing Maps.
- Payment providers shown in the Storeganise booking flow may process payment information needed to complete a booking.
Storeganise's general privacy notice is at storeganise.com/privacy. It describes Storeganise's own services and does not replace this Everstore notice for rental customer information.
We may also share information when needed to comply with law, respond to a lawful request, protect people, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
Some of the providers above process or access personal information outside the United Kingdom. Replit processes Everstore website data in North America under its data-processing agreement, which provides contractual transfer safeguards where required. Resend stores data in the United States; its data-processing terms include the UK transfer addendum and other transfer mechanisms described in its DPA. Storeganise's confirmed account data region is North America and its DPA applies. Google may process information in locations outside the UK as part of providing Maps.
You can ask us for more information about the transfer safeguards relevant to your information, including a copy or summary where the law requires it, by emailing admin@everstore.uk. Provider terms and safeguards can change, so we review them periodically.
How long do we keep information?
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, and review it for deletion when it is no longer needed.
- Website enquiries that do not lead to a rental: up to six years after the enquiry is closed.
- Rental records: while the rental is active and for up to six years after it ends, subject to any longer period required by law or needed for a legal claim.
- Email marketing details: while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record for as long as needed to honour your choice and prevent further marketing.
- Resend operational email and log data: 30 days under the current Free, Pro or Scale plan, according to Resend's published retention information. Remaining Resend customer data is deleted within 90 days after account termination under its published terms.
- Selected unit size: in your browser until you clear the browser's local storage.
- Website, security and provider logs: for the periods set out in the relevant provider terms and account settings, and only for as long as needed for security and service operation.
If information is needed for a legal claim, dispute or legal obligation, we may keep the relevant information for longer, but only for that purpose.
Cookies, browser storage and third-party features
The website uses local storage to remember a size you have selected. The cookie controls let you choose whether the Google Maps embed loads, reject the optional map as easily as allowing it, and later change or withdraw your choice. The map stays blocked until you allow it. Google may use cookies or similar technologies when the map loads. We do not currently use Meta Pixel or other advertising tracking on this website.
Google's privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of use, or a portable copy where the legal conditions apply. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent; this does not affect processing already carried out.
You can ask us to take action by emailing admin@everstore.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Everstore has a process for handling privacy requests across the website, email list and Storeganise.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Children
Bookings and storage rentals are for people aged 18 or over. The website is not designed for children and we do not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has sent us personal information, contact admin@everstore.uk so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services or information practices change. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
