Packing

Make the most of your space

General tips that help any size work harder. They are guidance, not a promise of what will fit.

  • Measure your largest items

    Check sofas, wardrobes and white goods against the approximate footprint before you choose.

  • Heavy at the bottom

    Stack strong, heavier boxes low and lighter ones on top. Use boxes of a similar size so stacks stay stable.

  • Leave a walkway

    Keep a gap down the middle or along one side so you can reach things without unpacking everything.

  • Things you need most at the front

    Seasonal items and paperwork you might want back soon are easiest near the door.

  • Label every side

    Write contents and the room they belong to on more than one side of each box.
